Christmas Missions
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we had the opportunity to join in where we saw God working this holiday season to serve others. Thank you to everyone who donated their treasure, time, and talent to make the ministry efforts below possible. Despite the circumstances of social distancing and having to conduct the planning via zoom meetings and emails we were able to continue our ministry work during Christmas. Here are a few highlights:
Door Way Angel Tree Ministry. We partnered with The DoorWay to purchase Christmas gifts for at risk youth. We were given tags with gift requests from the children. Bill and Donna Johnston took the church members’ purchases to the DoorWay who distributed our gifts to the children in a safe way.
Restaurant Gift Cards for the Franklin Park Police. We partnered with the Franklin Inn Mexican Restaurant to provide $20 gift cards to treat the police staff with a meal for Christmas. We appreciate the way these men and women protect and serve our community and wanted to brighten their day over Christmas. The Griffin Boys delivered the Christmas cards with our gifts.
Care Christmas Packages. We couldn’t be with our Anchorpoint Care Families over the holidays and we missed them dearly. So, we created cookie decorating gifts with a Giant Eagle Gift Card for the family to purchase groceries for a Christmas meal and a Target Gift Card for each child. Our gifts were dropped off at the families’ doors by a Heritage Church member. Btw, the cookies were scratch made by Julie! Yum!
